Davis Love III is back on top for now at least and it is good to see him back, Love leads the Verizon Heritage at Hilton Head S.C. Love has had a tough go of it lately since tearing his ankle last September and has struggled to regain his form. He did not qualify for the Masters this year and he seems to be back in the saddle with a tournament that he has won 5 times.

Love started quickly with four birdies in his first seven holes. He tied Justin Leonard for the top spot with a birdie on the par-five 15th hole after landing his approach within four feet of the flag.

He finished with his lowest round in more than two months and cracked 70 for just the third time in his past 13 rounds. Love is tied with Lucas Glover and Justin Leonard and looks to have a solid second round to continue the momentum.

It is good to have you back Davis you have been missed but I have to say you killed me in my golf fantasy league last year but I am willing to forgive you.
